eh lol u contradicting your self if you have one why does it matter if sky tell em
#6
Well it would be nice to know if they do that is all.
#7
I think that only when you purchase a tv, retailers are obliged to inform the licence people re your address, however, they have access to the voters/registry database, so unless you live in a tent or caravan you might need to get one.
#8
They'll probably let the license people know. They will check to see if you have a license. If you don't you'll get a letter!
#9
i would think they would the same as when you buy a tv they notify them too

this is giving us the idea you dont have a license, when i bought a freeview adapter from littlewoods 2 weeks later i got a letter asking me to pay for a license but i lived with my mum and she had one so tore it up

If you didn't have a TV license, the big dish on the front of your house would be a give the game away.

but whyy would you want to know, just for peace of mind cos you haven't got one
#13
We have one, its just i dont but my mum does and i live in the same house and her names different to mine so when i get sky im guessing from what Genious said, i will be fine?
#14
He says he has one so leave him alone. It's when it runs out that he probably won't renew it, reading between the lines :whistling:

Maybe you paid ahead in the past.
I used to go to post office and buy 1 but last yr that was scrapped so I had to call up and pay by direct debit, didn't want to split it monthly.
Yeh if they have made an error, keep quiet about it,don't enquire about anything.

The annual cost of a colour TV licence (set by the Government) is currently £139.50. That works out at £11.63 per month - about 38p per day for each household.

#25
No I dont think Sky tell anyone as my son lived in a flat short term and got Sky installed but didnt get notified that he needed a licence.
#26
I am getting it in my name not my mums, why will it be tricky?
#27
I am sure they do. I got sky installed, 2 days later TV licence guy called at the house.

I bought a PC PCI TV device that I had delivered to a shop where the missus works. About 2 months later, a letter arrived asking me to buy a license for the reception equipement that was on the premisis. Thing is, the shop DOES have a TV license, so no need for them to have sent anything if they bothered to check. But lets be honest, these people dont care who they harrass as long as they keep the money rolling in.

So a definitive answer - I dont know - but given the above, I would say its nigh 100% they do inform them.

There isn't a charge for doing it once per yr,the licence fee is £139.50 it says so on website for tv licensing.

If I wanted to pay monthly then they would prob want this yrs coming fee then a payment each mth and I not doing that now.
