Why one or the other, why not do both?
#2
Use both, go with whichever has the highest % for the merchant you are using. If both have the same % I go with topcashback because payment is much faster in my experience.
#3
Maybe TCB has a referral thing going on? Cba to check. Pretty sure QC doesn't.
#4
Thank you,
Just signed up to both, will see how it goes.

Topcashback somehow looks much better than quidco, so why is everyone pointing at that rather than this?

Because Quidco and Hotdeals are the same company I think. They work together I recall seeing a tread about that a long time ago

That's funny, I saw it as people saying use both. Pick and choose whichever gives the best cashback on whatever you're buying (I use QC and Ipoints). Or did your question have a 'hidden agenda'?

Yeah I read that bit. What I really meant was why on every deal, they go "don't forget QUIDCO 7%", when it could have been "dont forget topcashbacks 10%" or something. Infact, topcashback to me was only mentioned once throughout the lifetime of my surfing in hukdeals. Quidco, on the other hand, countless.

Fair do's:thumbsup: I just wondered because some people ask that question to try to cause trouble and make something of it that isn't there. I suppose that 'don't forget quidco' is because most of us on here use it and it covers most retailers with a pretty good payback rate (Do I get the job ). Theres nothing stopping posters from adding other cashback sites into the comments of the threads if they also offer a percentage.

That's down to Quidco being part owned by the admin of HUKD, so it's free self promotion but the admin is nice enough not to restrict us from being allowed to post rivals whereas Rpoints actually suspended me for mentioning Quidco in a deal because they earn a portion of the cashback, whereas companies like Quidco and Topcashback offer 100% of the money they receive to there customers.

Sometimes the rates will differ between Quidco and Topcashback though because they use different affiliate agencies, some who pay out faster or some who pay a higher rate and some that even offer different levels of cashback such as Game offer 5% cashback but have tiers for the monthly amount of business brought in per month, with the maximum being 11%.
In this instance, if a company advertises them but hardly brings in any business, they won't be able to compete with the cashback that Quidco offer. :)

There's a useful tool on MSE (Money Saving Expert) called the "Cashback-Sites Maximiser" that appears to compare casback websites to see who gives the best rate. I access it by adding " shopping/cashback-sites-comparison/ " to the end of the home html address.

I'm fed up of being shafted by rpoints.

One thing I don't understand is how quidco and TCB make money and pay their expenses if they give 100% of their commission? I know Quidco charge a fiver a year but that's pretty tiny.

Quidco charge a fiver per year for a system that's already been set up years ago, so there's not as much work involved as you may think but think how many 100,000's of members they have and times that by £5 per year and they also charge 5p per BACS transfer (which is better than being charged over 3% by Paypal to receive free payments) so they definitely make a nice bit of money from everyone.

Topcashback don't charge the members anything but they operate this completely free service by charging for advertising slots.

I use quidco,I've tried cashbacktoyou and greasypalm and not had much luck.I also go through Nectar for Amazon,Argos,eBay (cos eBay won't track for me via Quidco) and a few other sites.

BACS is now FREE on QC, so even more reason to dump Paypoo:-D
