Go for it Chunky, you need to keep strong. All or nothing, don't even be tempted into having just the one, or a fly puff.

Hard as hell, but if you really really want to stop, you'll do it. Keep focused on why you decided to stop.

The earlier hours/days are always the toughest. Ensure you have something to replace the cravings otherwise the pounds will pile on fast.

Good luck

I am 44 and have never even tried smoking as I saw my best friend at 16 choke to death due to him having undiagnosed asthma and smoking but I admire the fact that you are trying to give up. Best of luck:thumbsup:

Oh I can imagine, I haven't had one since my lunch break and it gets to me around now

Good luck with giving up, prove the BF wrong, gloat in his face later, that will stop you wanting one :-D

Well done so far, but remember pride is on the line here. Can you survive the shame of admitting your boyfriend was right? lol

Just do it....I smoked for 10 years before quitting in an instant nearly 2 years.... and since then, I smoked 1 in anger 18 months ago and a couple at a wedding when I was drunk like a skunk.

BTW, I find it's even more satisfactory when you prove people wrong, so quit smoking and laugh in his face. :-D

I find the more you think about it, the more you begin the craving process....you have to keep yourself occupied and you'll be fine. :)

So that two people you can stick four fingers up once this is all over, just think about how good that will feel? I think maybe you need some prize at the end, maybe place a bet with your boyfriend, shoes, clothes or something. That always helps

He's already said that he'll buy me a big buch of flowers if I make it to the end of the month and a "good" present every month for 6 months if I stick to it...if you knew my boyfriend you would know that it deffo means he doesn't think I'll do it haha!

I weaned myself down off the nicotine switched to silk cut, then silk cut (mild) I think then silk cut ultra low. About a month on each. Then just stopped have not smoked since.
ps I do not work for silk cut.

+1000000, try not to think about it too much n keep busy to take your mind off it. Good luck n remember its not failure if you dont suceed the 1st time, just remind yourself why u wanna give up :)

I gave up weed AND cigs on January the 14th not touched a cig since, after a month the smell eminating of smokers will knock you ill and thatll be it, your cured ! Its no good weaning yourself off with lower amounts and chewing gums/patches this that n the other in my opinion, if you want to stop just stop completely

I gave up almost a month ago using the tablet Champix from the doctor. Really quite easy and I have almost no will power.

Worth a try

Everybody does it there own way. If you can, stay away from other smokers it's the biggest factor in people failing giving up.
You also need good motivation, we had a baby on the way and I always said to myself I would give up then.

Which is why people who stop smoking tend to put on weight. Is it worth it?

You could always try chewing gum instead. Might work. Or just cut down so you ween yourself off.

Personally can't see the point in quitting myself.

I agree. In fact, I think you should double your intake.
