Hey all,

I bought an R4 Deluxe from dealextreme and a 2gb Sandisk MIcro SD card from play and am trying to get it working but it says loading all the time.

I have been reading around and can't seem to get an answer to fix it.

One forum says I need to put menu files on the SD card? is this true and where do I get thm? no disk came with it?

Please help, I have a disk with over 100 games a friend gave me a I can't get it working

:-(

Have a search on here for a thread by Thesaint.
He has a good guide for this somewhere on here.

Here is the thread

I thought that the R4 card came with the software already installed, it did on mine anyway. BTW. I only use Homebrew games rather than the pirated stuff :)

Yes the card will not work without the 'Menu' files being on the memory card, go to the website for the R4 to download the relevant files.

Note : I believe there are different versions of some card (may or may not include the R4) - so use the website shown on the packaging with your card.

is it the R4 sd or the R4 sdhc card you have, let me know i have all the firmware for all versions

Basically games and applications created by private people other than companies. Google will give you the sites.

Goto http://www.r4dscart.com/r4-software.html

At the bottom of the page is a link to download the latest firmware 1.18. Click this and save the file

Unzip the folder which will create a folder called English.

Format your micro sd card and copy the contents of the folder onto the sd card.

You then copy the games onto the card, but don`t fill the card as when you run game it makes a save file on the card.

Then put the card in the DS and it should have a menu with 3 boxes and click on the games icon and a list of games appear. Click on the game you wish to play.

Do you know how much space I need to leave? Am transfering 1.85gb now which only leaves 3mb, is this enough or should I delete a couple of games? thanks

Jeez, Just trying to save you some grief.

I think you got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning.
Go back and chill out for an hour then try again.
Then perhaps you wouldn't advise people to reformat their hard drive just to get rid of one program. :w00t:

How to uninstall a program

1.18 is unlikely to work, that's for the real exstinct non sdhc R4.

Goto the website written on the box or cart and get the firmware files from there.

Just a quick note about the "R4" brand. Around a couple of years ago the company that made the R4 went under, since then all flash cards with "R4" in the title are not from the original firm, they just stole the name. If you check this out on "R4" forums you will see alot of problems with these new cards, mostly with playing the latest roms.
I've got 4 DSTT cards (3 of them fakes but not a problem so long as you stick t v1.15 firmware) and they do the job for £4.60ish delivered from Dealextreme.

Are you offering these here for £4.60 delivered. Is that each or all 4.
#22
Think he`s refering to the price Dealextreme sell them for, around £4.60 each delivered. :)

Edit. Todays exchange rate = £4.39

That's what I'm hoping for.
