Hey guys and girls, does anyone know why there appears to be no cheap train tickets on Sundays?
I have been looking for some friends who were hoping to come up from London Kings Cross to Newcastle some time in the new year. As a starting point i picked Jan 31st. I can get a single to newcastle for £11.50 but on the Sunday (1st Feb) ticket prices are not discounted.
I have searched a few other Sundays in Feb as date is not set in stone, yet still only full price tickets, am i missing something? I know that you can get discounted tickets on Sundays as i've used them before.
Any help would be much appreciated.
I have been looking on the national express site and thetrainline.com, most of my friends have railcards so cheapest i can get is a return for about £65 which is what you can buy on the day of travel.
