Thanks. It says 4 gig per slot. I presume I have a 1 gig and a 2 gig card at the moment! so can I take a 1 gig out and replace it wit a 4. Sorry but this is all new to me.

Why do you think you need more than 3Gb.

Most users will never use 3Gb let alone anything above that.

Having more memory than you actually need will not make your laptop go any faster.

Not sure really. I read some where that 4 gig is needed for windows 7 to run smoothley. Would I be wasting my money?

If youre laptop has a I5 processor then it is worth changing as this can run dual channel memory ,Otherwise changing from 3gb to 4gb would be barely noticable,

I'm guessing somewhere was somewhere with a vested interest in selling RAM...

Basically I had it bought a few days ago for b-day and was expecting it to be fast but windows takes a while to load up properly.

You probably just need to get rid of a load of bloatware that came with it. Just go through and uninstall what you don't need.

I thought about that but not sure what the system needs. Will it let me delete what's needed for it to run? Thanks

I will have a look and report back on things I'm not sure about
