How much does a rapidshare account work out at now?

I used to pay around a fiver or a premium account, now it says that premium accounts are free?

But then there are rapidpoints? Will i need to buy rapidpoints to be able to download?

Thanks

I'm ditching rapidshare, when my rapids are gone i'm not renewing. Looking at hotfile or megaupload, most of the warez uploaders are using megaupload now and the files appear to stay up a lot longer than rs.

How are megaupload for speeds?
#8
So does that mean for €4.99 its around 5 months?

Because it used to be €6.99 for a month?

Rapidshare is dead, I had over 400GB files stored on there and when they started the new System, I moved all to elsewhere...hence all the Dead links....

I think chaps that used Rapidshare...left as they named some ppl that uploaded 2 the site,I am sure I saw this in the news going back bit.

Yes, 30GB a month limit though, and then you buy more bandwith if you need it.

30GB seems fair to me...Think i can stick to that. Cheers...

You ever used anything else but rapdishare? Megaupload?

Nothing to do with that, that was years ago and nothing ever came of it.

I've used megaupload free before, the speed is ok, but I don't like it, first of all most the files are still on RS, secondly they're unprofessional and the site is full of porn ads which doesn't seem like a business I want to throw money at tbh.

Cheers, think im gonna go for rapidshare. Never had any problems with it and its cheaper :)

Thanks

Well is this what you call along time ago...............?" In April 2009 RapidShare handed over the personal details of uploaders who uploaded copyright-protected files to major record labels.[14][15] The incident is reported to have arisen due to a leak of a pre-release copy of metal band Metallica's Death Magnetic album."

Hotfile is throttled worse than torrents (after 4.30pm and weekends 10kb/s while others are still 600kb/s) so i'll probably go with megaupload or netload.

I used to use it a lot. The problem with RS is that the links are shared on open forums which means google indexes them, then they get removed by cease and desist requests.

I use closed forums or verified sources only.

I used to get about 2mb/s when downloading on premium (that was based on my connection speed) but this was restricted to 5gb a day.

Worth it but more and more sites that use RS are switching back to FTP or other sources.

Well i paid for rapidshare....got good speeds and found working links pretty easy :)

For now, unless they rethink their new pricing structure decent rapidshare links are going to go downhill fast.

I used to use Rapidshare, but the downloads on the associated site got less and less for rapidshare and more and more for Hotfile, so I switched over and never have a problem. Download speeds are always excellent.

I've noticed lots of posters on certain forums have recently ditched RS in favour of HotFile and SharingMatrix(now FileSonic). In my experience, maybe 1 in 20 downloads from HF works OK. Most of the time it starts of slow and gets slower. 16 days to download a file? No thanks. Don't know what the speed's like on SM as there's usually a 10 minute wait to start the download.

Most RS links are still active but to be honest their new pricing structure a little confusing, especially as they kept changing their minds every couple of days as to how it was going to work. Couple of months till I have to renew my account so I'll worry about staying with them then.

MegaUpload speeds are pretty good. I only have a free account with them at the moment but if I ditch RS I'll probably get a premium account and move all my files here.

Little tip - If you find you're downloading regularly from MU, create a free account. It means you only have to wait 25 seconds to start a download as opposed to 45. It's not much but every little helps.

MediaFire's the only other site I've had no problems with. ZShare usually does a sort of infinity loop thing. You wait for the timer to get down to zero, click on the download link and it takes you back to the start. If you download something from DepositFiles, you won't be able to download another file for hours, but it won't tell you how long.
