Not sure if this is for the Uk, but im sure it will be, cheeky beggars!!

"US, April 7, 2009 - Today, Capcom released new downloadable content for Resident Evil 5 on Xbox 360, with a PS3 version coming this Thursday. Versus Mode enables four players to enjoy two different modes: Slayers and Survivors. The cost in the US is 400 MSP ($5), but is cheaper in Japan at 160 MSP ($2). The cost difference is likely indicative of Japanese gamers' reluctance to pay for bonus content. We were certain the $3 price hike for other territories would be the biggest controversy, but on Tuesday morning, that was proven incorrect.

The total download size for RE5 Versus Mode is 1.86MB. You are not, in fact, downloading the content from Xbox Live Marketplace or PlayStation Network. Instead, you are downloading a key that unlocks content already on the RE5 retail disc. The same disc you paid $60 for a month ago"

When asked to justify why gamers who already shelled out $60 for a copy of RE5 should have to pay extra to unlock content included on the disc, a Capcom representative said: "Versus mode represents content that was created outside the scope of the original design of Resident Evil 5. This is an all new mode that required additional resources to create, not to mention the additional bandwidth costs."

The bandwidth costs are related to the PS3 version. Sony charges publishers for servers used for online games, which is why PS3 online is free to consumers. Microsoft includes these costs with the $50 Gold subscription paid for by Xbox gamers.

This was announced when the game was released.
Its crap, it needs people like sarcastic gamer to make a stand like they did with EA and BF:Bad company.

No one is making you pay the extra, sure its a little cheeky when you have already paid enough for the game itself, but aslong as people keep paying it, it will continue. business is all about money nothing else.Money grabbing **** :)

EA were going to give certain weapons only to those people that either downloaded a pack on xbox live or bought the collectors edition.
The weapons had already been made and put on the disk, but EA wanted to cash in on the dlc market.

Saracastic Gamer, a podcast/gaming website from America, kicked off and began interviewing Ea representatives/ gathering support from other podcasts/sites.

EA eventually backed down.

Gaming has changed this generation.

Embarrased to admit it, but I find myself ignoring my ps3 cos the 360 has achievements.

Played ONE game so far on my ps3. Sad, innit?
