As the title suggests really!

I'm not too bothered about going, but I know of a few people who may be!

The thing is, I'm sad and I watched the listings close for last years festivals.

As soon as they were sold out, they were going for stupid money on ebay. However, I've learnt that nothing on ebay is "sold" until the money has exchanged hands. But they are other people's auctions, so I took it on face value that they had paid.

When all the hype died down, you had tickets go for reasonable amounts, still more than face value, so the sellers made enough money to cover costs etc and a bit more for themselves.

Then with a few days later, you could pick them up for pence! Well, say about £20!

My boyfriends family get free vip passes most years as they live in Bramham where the Leeds festival is held. They get just enough for the people who pay council tax at the property so we dont get to go.

i got tickets! wooo. Thing is they allowed a max for 6 tickets to be purchased, which is rediculous, as im sure over 50% will buy too many just to sell some on ebay.

I can guarantee that if you make your way to the festival(pretty much anyone, except maybe Glasto) you will be able to buy a ticket on the day. There are always touts selling tickets....ALWAYS.

Now for some it may be a longer journey than others granted, but rather than pay inflated ebay prices, spend a few quid on petrol(or train, bus whatever) pack your rucksack and wander down on the day.

I have always bought my festival tickets beforehand(officially that is) and sometimes wonder whether it would have been a bit cheaper to buy on the day....there are loads of selllers on route to the site(well up north there is)

You will never pay more than face value, and sometimes get it cheaper, and even at face value you save on booking fee and postage costs.

I went to Leeds festival and saw Guns N' Roses (amongst others) a few years ago - It was absolutely brilliant. It was also the same year all those riots took place, it was mental!

I was there too.........riots....I missed it all....somewhat isolated incidents that get blown out of proportion!

Well they did destroy a few bogs I suppose.....the exhuberance of the youth today:roll:

I was camping on the site where it all kicked off and watched utterly bewildered as events unfolded. We had to stay awake and guard the tent all night. The whole thing started with an argument at the burger van near us when some youths started throwing stuff at the van and it got so bad he had to abandon the van. People started climbing over the counter and looting everything, then people started to knock over all the security towers, several people had to jump out of them.

The amazing bit was where they took a security tower and used it as a battering ram to break down the toilet fortress. Then all the chemical loos were set on fire which of course exploded. Bins, tents, everything. Chaos :) The papers never told the full story which we saw pan out.

MBeeching.....that is why we always stay on the campervan site.....far more civilised folk to be found:p

A true festival experience you had there by all accounts,I apologise if I trivialised the incident.

All the weekend tickets have sold, but the single day tickets are all still available. I just bought Leeds on Sunday to see the Chili Peppers, We are Scientists, The View, Bloc Party, Arcade Fire and Panic! At the Disco.

I was also there one year when all hell broke loose. One of the campsites was set on fire and a girl got raped in her tent.

Unfortunately, it's become an unhealthy tradition for things to kick off at the Leeds festival.

My advice would be to do like muckypup and borrow a campervan.
