I need the rear brakes doing on my 206, does anyone know what is a good price to pay?

Going to ring around a few garages for a few prices but just dont want to get ripped off.

Is it the drums that need doing or just the shoes? I would say you would get away with just doing the shoes unless there is a massive lip on the drums. Either way they are a piece of ****. Found them easier than doing my front brakes (why I paid someone else to do them).

Why not the rears? It's probably easier to do the rears as I would have thought the 206 (depending on the mk and model) had drums instead of discs.

I would have suggested somewhere closer to me but that's a little too far to travel.

Just checking you didn't take it to one of those large garage chains? Nationwide, Kwikfit similar? They always say you need new brakes.

Buy the parts from here http://www.gsfcarparts.com/

I have not taken it anywhere, i had my mate check the front (then i noticed it was the same as scooter brakes and just a pin that i could do myself), he said he didnt know how to do the back but the fronts were fine.

I have not taken it anywhere yet, im hoping i could get away with just shoes. Are shoes easy to replace then?

wow that site is good £20 for set of brake shoes, wonder if that is for the pair or just one.

If it says set I would say 2, but I would ring them to check.

(Shop prices do not include VAT, VAT will be added at the shop checkout.Online prices are not necessarily available in branches.)

I did it at night at work, took about an hour each side. The hardest part was getting the springs back on, expect cut knuckles. I did my 96 Golf so it may be harder easier, probably easier knowing how rubbish french cars are :-D

Don't breath the dust.
