Hi guys, I have a Brother MFC-9450CDN colour laser priner, I tried to print a photo on normal glossy photo paper but it was all messed up (ink wouldnt stick to paper)

Can any one advise which photo laser paper is good for laser printers as they look quite pricey

Cheers

laser printers cant use photo paper, its the coating that it cant use, the coating if for ink printers to reflect light and stop the ink soaking in

use plain uncoated normal paper only.

I had an on line chat with someone from brother and they said the same thing but looking on google i see there are photo papers available especially for laser printers?

I triedd normal photo paper in a laser printer - huuuuuuuge mistake! It melted the shiny coating and screwed up the printer big time.
My friend recommended HP Lasere photo paper to me, like this http://www.tonergiant.co.uk/show-all/cg970a-hp-10-x-15-200gm-professional-glossy-laser-photo-paper-100s/?of_tid=sO41AA_HKcQSlMu0DUi6FMRP3ovOuC0SFfpy8fJPW796vVaCacejjV8lbG_ugZi- but I stick to getting them done online now!

Brother laser printers may run their fuser at higher temperatures than hp lasers do, so its a risk to try laser photo paper from HP in a Brother machine.

But what with the costs involved and laser just isnt good at photo's, i'd stick with paying someone else to print photo's
as i recall, laser photo paper is just shiny, but does nothing to help the laser toner make a better coloured print, as it's different to inkjet.

Ok sound, it just seemed wierd that you spend £500+ on a printer and it doesnt print on photo paper. Nevermind, i'll get my bro to print them on his inkjet. Cheers guys, some rep coming your way

I use a colour laser printer for photos too. For best results use at least 100g paper and the brightest possible. Not all white paper is really white.

Is ur printer not affected by printing on photo paper? Which paper do you use?

I don't use photo paper, just plain good quality laser paper.

I use various brands, though not HP as it does not work too well for some reason. I usually get my paper from Viking Direct, either their own brand or whatever is on sale. The 100g paper in the link works great. I use the first one one the list, but you might want to take a look at the others. You may get it cheaper elsewhere.
