RECEIVED FROM PLAY.COM **BROKEN** Fly SLT100 T-Mobile Pre-Pay Mobile Phone (Black)

I took delivery of this phone from play.com, it was a deal advertised on this site. The phone had already been used. The box had been opened and re-sealed, the battery and sim were in the phone. The phone doesn't even turn on, it is broken, I have tried everything under the sun.

So someone bought it, send it back as it is broken, so play.com just sent it to another buyer. Anyone else had any issues with this phone or similar stories. I am sending it back, i paid for it 10 days ago aswell, waste of my time!

have you tried charging it? :whistling:

Joke by the way :)

I've never had any problems with stuff from play and i use them a lot.

Seems a bit of a dodgy thing to do, re-send out a broken phone, have you phoned them?

Get writing a suitably stern letter of complaint. I'd be absolutely livid!

I tried to get a return code from the website but it wouldn't let me, so I had to phone them to get it. It's the wait that annoys me the most, and I have to pay to post it back, and for packaging, like sellotape e.t.c. I did my end of the deal by paying for it, I received broken second hand goods!

Oh I forgot, they said to post it recorded delivery! They didn't think it was necessary when they sent it to pay, they paid for normal post.

i bought two of theses off them last month only to find that T Mobile confirmed they were fakes.

IMEI behind battery started 135 not 35 which gives it away.

Play werent too concerned when i told them but they did collect via Parcel Force at their cost and refunded sharpish.

These phones are usually only on Virgin.

Why should play bother doing anything? They're based in Jersey so not subject to UK trading standards law.

I treat them a bit like Ebay - i.e only buy things that I would be prepared to write off if something goes wrong.

like me and farcry2 never got mine sent a email and they stated the never had much stock in the first place!. just liked holding onto my money! i wont ever use play again.

I very much doubt they were fake, more likely unlocked and bundled with a t-mobile sim.

That's funny, I have one of these from Play, the IMEI starts with 35 and seems to be locked to T-Mobile ( a Vodaphone sim won't work in it anyway).

But then don't Virgin piggy back T-Mobiles network anyway, that might explain why they can use and come with a T-Mobile sim.

Fake mobiles, flipping heck. We have fake everything, Colgate toothpaste, booze, cigs, it's mental.

Gonna send it back, and scan the receipt like you mentioned. This is the first time I have purchased from this site, never again!

Im afraid they were.

T Mobile stated this when i spoke to them as i had problems with picture messages and settings.

They were both unlocked to all networks but another bought by a friend was real (ie 35 IMEI) and worked fine.

Yes Virgin do piggyback T Mobile.

Shame.

Having an IMEI that does not start with 35 does not mean the phone is a fake... lol... T-Mobile will always do that if they cant get the settings working for you, if you have a branded phone too they will say its because its branded by another network... If you have low reception they will say its the phones software, etc because you didnt buy it from them, lol

The phone doesnt have to be from T-Mobile itself, it was most likely a good deal that they picked up from abroad and they sell it with a T-Mobile sim... Doesnt mean there is anything dodgy with the phone, however if you dont have t-mobile modded firmware then sometimes things wont work but thats T-Mobiles own fault the other networks are just as bad though

I could pick up a phone from abroad and sell it here with one of our network sims doesnt mean its a fake phone, lol

IV just received the very same phone from play & found the sim card already in the phone, the battery was not in the phone.

Is there a way i can tell if the phone has been used before?
Or maybe play.com puts the sim card in the phone before posting to make sure everything is working ok
