Can anybody recommend a driving instructor or driving school in Manchester please?

Could you also let me know how much they charge per lesson and if they have any special offers please.

I went with BSM as I knew if I didn't like the instructor I could change.

Don't be sucked into buying any extra software or stuff like 'simulator' time as the disc you can get for a tenner from WH Smiths if far superior.

Looked at BSM earlier and they are doing the first two lessons for £20 which is quite good and then £22 per lesson after that. I've picked up some BSM books from a charity shop which go through the highway code etc but will need one of those discs, thanks for the heads up :)

Just took a look at that thanks, the first 3 lessons are very cheap so might be good just to sample them before I make any decisions. Thanks :D

Make sure they are fully licensed
green badge in the window means they are fully qualified
pink badge means they are training to be driving instructor and are likely not to be that good at teaching as they have passed the theory test and driving test but not the 3rd part of the test that tests their ability to teach.
I advise you that your instructor is fully licenced green badge holder.

I second this I used it and got 49/50 on my theory.

I would be wary of BSM. I have used BSM twice and found that both instructors wasted the lesson time and that I didn't get much driving done. Don't look at the price when looking for instructors ask them how long you will be getting driving out of your hour lesson. Also don't go for 2 hr lessons in the initial stages as you will find it tiring you are better to do 2 1hr lessons in a week.

That's the one I used, very useful.

I started with BSM and did my lessons and then when my instructor moved to a different school I went with him as I found him competent. My cousin started at a cheaper local driving school but found it a nightmare as the instructor had him driving on major roads with little instruction and was texting while he did, ended up switching over to the same as me.

These lessons are pretty similar to what I did at BSM.
