To all HUKD users! I need help! I do security at a retail store and i wanted a mp3 player with a built-in speaker that's loud with good quality and a long battery life, so that when i am sat on the security podium i can listen to my songs. If there is any brand that can be recommended that will do the job and where they can be bought from, i would be really grateful if you can let me know thanks guys!!!

Buy an iPod and get the external stand/speakers. The quality is excellent.

Thanks, but i have managers that can be funny at times and we tend to have a regional manager pop into our store on a regular basis. So i wanted something that i can quickly pause and put in my pocket when the time comes ;-)

ipod touch 2nd generation? Not sure what your budget is as they are still quite pricey. Or buy a cheap mp3 player with enough storage for your music then buy some portable speakers. Will work out cheapest i think

I was looking at the 2nd gen ipod touch, but couldn't find anyone that has commented on the built-in speaker.

Hmmm, so far it's looking like the 'separate' options. Let's see what the other guys have to suggest.

THought about a phone? My SE W810 has pretty good speakers and was only £30 I have a 4gb card in mine.

I have a LG KS360 that i am listening with, but the battery runs out before the day is over.

I use mine for about an hour a day for music and charge my phone each weekend.

Hehe, i tend to sit on the podium for 6 hours so that's why i don't mind having a mp3 player and charge it everyday for the days that i work in the week

Lol! Now that will grab the attentions of my managers! Along with our regional manger that pops into our store every other week! :-D

The RD-HA3 is just the best player I have ever had. The Steepletone should be arriving today or tomorrow.

I've got a Creative zEN xFI (16GB) and it love it.
Compact, cool and nice built in speaker. its also connects to wireless lan so you can stream music!

The only neg is the control buttons are not the best!

What seems to be the issue with the controls buttons if you don't mind me asking?

If you look st the pic below you'll see the player.
it has a 3x3 button layout instead of an Ipod style control.
Its a bit fiddly, especially if you've got big, fat and stubby fingers..Like myself!
But thats my only gripe really.

Its credit card width, height and only 12mm think.

Babysumo you have helped to buy the Creative Zen X-Fi 8gb. I bought it from PC World and i am more than pleased with your recommendation. The built-in speaker is great. The supplied headphones the Creative EP-830 are much better compared to my Sony MDR - X71 (and there i was thinking Sonys make better earphones)! Thanks
