I need an all in one printer - scanner, photocopier and printer. Theres loads of cheap ones on the market. For example on PCWORLD you can get Lexmark, Epson, Canon and HP ones for less than £40. But the ink for the Canon and HP seems to be the most expensive...around £20 or so per cartridge. Lexmark isnt too bad ... £15 per cartrifge.

Can anyone recommend a printer which fits my needs which takes inexpensive cartridges please!

Thanks.

I have a brother DCP-135C. Bought for around £50, requires 4 cartridges which cost me around 7quid for all form ebay! no problems what so ever. Totally gone off Lexmark.

Got a lexmark myself and I dont rate it...parents have an Epson Photo Stylus R240 (an old model), which is really good...oroginal inks not that expensive but you cant go wrong with the refills :)

only 150C is available on PC World now so I guess your model is discontinued. Where do you buy the catridges from?

Brother MFC215C multifunction printer + fax
Brother DCP310CN All In One Printer

Both recommended, particularly because you can buy cheap but perfectly good ink cartridges on eBay and elsewhere for a fraction of the cost of originals.

For slightly expensive than the 135 is the mfc 235 but gives you fax as well and it accepts the same cartridges as the 135 so they are still cheaper.
Argos sells it at 39.

have just thought Wireless printer would probably suit me better ... how is this: http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/855223

(yes it will cost a bit more, but its infinitely more convenient, having a laptop and desktop in the house).

It may be a fine printer, but you might want to look at these Amazon reviews before deciding. Check out too the cost of ink, and whether you can get cheap compatibles.

I've started thinking about wireless printing again!!!. SO I've just seen the Brother DCP-770CW: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brother-DCP-770CW-Wireless-Multifunction-Widescreen/dp/B000UPH6ZC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1231025030&sr=8-5

Anyone got one of those? On the same page theres a link to it for catridges which are less than a tenner for a set of four.

Saw an Epson today in Argos - sorry can't remember model no - but it was £24.95 and what struck me as extremely good value was 3yr warranty for £4.95. Most of my printers have failed within this time. Shame that I got a new Canon as an Xmas pressie or I'd have got one.
