Recovering data from broken Memory Stick Pro Duo card?

Is it possible? Does anyone know any software that does it? Basically it has pictures from Washington and New York on it and it decided to stop working my sony camera says 'please reinsert memory stick'. company in New York wanted to charge $70 just to try to recover pics!

Are you sure it's the card that's broken? Maybe your camera has a faulty memory stick reader and that's why it's giving you that error?

If the actual memory stick is broken then I guess there's not much you can do. Try it in a few different memory stick reader - USB card reader, internal laptop card reader, etc and see if anything will recognise it.

There's free file recovery software out there. Give me a few mins and I'll post some links for you. I've tried a couple and they DO work.

Yeah bought another memory stick and have had no problems with that.

They both appear to be free. I haven't tried these particular ones but I'm sure you can't go far wrong with them. Good luck and let me know how you get on.

There is an official sony one, i'll get you a link, your pc would need to recognise the card tho.
