Isn't this the case for most multi-platform games? Spend more money developing on the bigger console?
#3
they are great gfx on both consoles the margins are not worth debating, the game will (hopefully) be just as awesome and fun as GTA IV and then some
#4
This is the case with most games that are on both platforms, the 360 versions will have slightly better graphics.
#5
Anyway, heres a ten second clip of red dead running on PS3, and 360 (by the same guy, doing the same thing in both clips)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wge2EVB3wE&hd=1 (PS3)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X271DTsH_g&hd=1 (360)

The xbox has less flickering then the ps3 version

Red Dead Redemption 360 vs. PS3: our thoughts
By Ben Kuchera | Last updated about 23 hours ago
Our review copies of Red Dead Redemption have arrived, which means it's time to get to work on some coverage. Rockstar sent both a PS3 and a 360 version of the game, and many people are wondering which version to get, so we thought we'd do a quick comparison.

This is non-scientific, but after playing an hour of both games, and switching back and forth between the two systems on our display, it's clear that the 360 version has quite the graphical advantage. It's sharper, with much less aliasing. The faces of the characters were clearer in the opening section. Gameplay sections likewise looked better, with smoother graphics across the board. The PlayStation 3 version looked impressive, but there was a noticeable jump in quality while playing on the 360.

Keep in mind that the game doesn't look bad on the PS3—not by any stretch—but based on our time with the game and direct comparisons, the 360 version looks better. If you purchase the PS3 version of the game you're not going to be let down, but if you have the choice, pick up a copy for the 360
:x:?

I think the 360 has the ps3 beaten on this one im afraid in the graphics department. Anyone with good eyesight can notice that the 360 version has much more sharper and crisp graphics who else agrees with me??;-)

oh right so its a competition then which console has rdr looking the best wins , the difference is slight even if u think its massive . if anyone has both consoles they should buy it for the console that the majority of friends play with . ps3 also has exclusive dlc aswell incase ppl didnt know

will still pick it up for the ps3 regardless of this, play on it more than i play on my 360 and im not overly fussed by the difference in picture quality so long as it plays the same as the 360 version

Yeah me too. I used to prefer my Xbox over my PS3 by a long way, but now it is the other way round. The small difference in picture is exactly that. Although a few months back i would have thought differently, we all know the ps3 is the better console in the long run :)
#32
Once again R* have shafted the loyal PS3 gamer!!!
There is quite a difference if u have a good eye for it. It's GTA5 and Beyonetta all over again..
But I will still be playing it on the PS3. It is the better console and when devs can understand how to develope for the the ps3 first then sub it to the xbox, rather than the other way round things will start looking more magical! :)
At the end of the day PS3's have been outselling xbox's for a very long time now and by a huge margin.. It was the the huge year gap that gave Micro$oft the huge 8mil head start.

Imagine also the RRoD rate for xbox consoles over the years? How many people over the world have brought a new system twice, three times or maybe four as I heard one person say?

As a PC user I must admit both these look very good. Although the picture looks noticeably different between the two. The PS3 appears to have way too much AA, almost purposely turned up to the point it forces everything to lose detail. Whereas the 360 screens appear to have no AA at all causing jaggies but retaining much clearer detail.

I think it would be a matter of ones opinion which you would prefer. Neither to me look right though, they could of easily got the AA right on both and the difference would be barely noticeable. It sure looks to me though as if this was done on purpose.

I actually prefer the ps3 graphics as jaggies in the 360 version dont look right at all but your point is well made and as mentioned previously, I doubt anyone would notice any difference at all in actual gameplay.

i watched my recording of 3:10 to Yuma (from Sunday) last night, almost every ad break had the RDR trailer, lol

Im not trying to start a fanboy war, but you have to admit lots of ps3 owners and buyers of this game must be a little dissapointed knowing that the 360 has the better graphics on RDR!!

Most people have both consoles by now, as someone said earlier buy it on the format that most of your online friends have it on (if you play online) or go with most comfortable controller...

That's not as of 10 may. I'd say its end of 2009.
