  Suggest they get the scouts walking round after the postmen and picking the wretched things up - they seem to follow our postie like Hansel and Gretel's trail!!!!!! Much be terribly un-environmentally friendly!

  Yep, just look on the floor.
  I don't know why our council don't fine The Royal Mail for littering.
  It's disgusting the amount that are about.
  And as Tah-M has said, it's not going to be doing the environment any good.

  sorry just to add that the scouts use them and take them home to be re-used for next time, if they become damaged they give them to the scout master and he disposes of them, they don't get thrown into the wild or anything, he's very strict with things like that.

  your better off asking the postie if you see him, i get asked all the time and give a handfull but to be honest the yellow bands you get in the stores are much better quality, i dont know if its the dye or whatever they use in the red bands but the dont last very long

  I was at my mum's and asked if she had an elastic band and she suddenly ran up the road and back again and gave me a couple. i said what was that all about, she said postmen always drop them at corners i knew there'd be some!
