Attention all techy persons, geeks, hackers and IT specialists who know more than restarting fixes everything.

I have a new website, its flash based which of course doesnt work on a lot of mobile devices, so I'm after a bit of automatic redirection to a mobile site (ie http://www.mydomainname.com/mobile)

I've had a look on google, and I confess my expertise lie in visual design to that of coding so if anyone has experience on directing mobile browsers who could help me out then it would be very much appreciated, I'd assume there is a mass rule out there, which if someone on here has used I don't mind financially compensating them for their time of a proven redirect.

There was something along this line in last week's Web User using a website called onbile.com to make a mobile friendly website. It then gives you the html code you need to past into your site. Might help.

Is the site on windows or linux, there are numerous ways to do this and lots of scripts available...

You can use javascript but a lot of mobile devices don't allow JS to run by default
The next option is script coding e.g. php or asp.

Found this which allows you to build the code e.g. choose which devices you want to redirect. This is PHP based so your website would need to be rewritten (quite simple really) to use php coding.

On Flash, it's not a good idea to have a full flash website as you have found out it's bad for mobile users but also bad for search engines.... Might be worth considering moving your site to a normal html/css site and only using flash for the bits you need in flash e.g. image galleries (but can be done with javascript now).

Appreciated, I actually found that site after my original question.

Problem is as much as you tell a woman its functionally better not to use flash (although it is XML) so still indexed by google, she's adament that looks are everything, and to be honest she's not too bothered about SEO becuase very little of her custom is generated through search engines anyway.

The mobile site is just so theres something there for the browsers on the go, if I'm struggling to redirect autmatically, I may just have to create a front page allowing users to progress to the desktop of mobile versions.
