Reducing my monthly vodafone tarrif?

I've got four months left on my Vodafone contract. Is there any way I can reduce it to the lowest monthly tarrif or will I have to buy out the remainder of the contract?

can you even move down a tariff? i thought you could only move up... since if your on like an iphone contract could you not just end up moving down to the lowest tariff and ending up with a rediculously awesome price...

If you're on an eighteen month contract you can drop it down after twelve months.

I dropped on last year and the salesgirl dropped it straight from £45 to £15, even though I think it's supposed to be a £5 drop per month.

Unless its changed recently, you can only move down one tier each month. So, if you were on 45 (as above) it would take you 6 months to get to 15 quid...

Just got off the phone. Sneaky sods. When my original 18 month contract ran out, instead of taking out an upgrade, I stuck with my old phone so they gave me 50% off my contract taking it down to £12.50 a month. They told me I could drop my contract down BUT the 50% discount would be taken off making my contract go back UP to £25 a month then they could reduce it by £5 a month! I'm better off diverting my calls to my new phone and and paying the last 4 months of my Vodafone contract at £12.50 a month!

I was on a Blackberry tariff with a Curve 8310 and I signed up for a new contract for the same amount for an N97 (knowing that I would have to pay off the difference). I think I had 4 months left.

I went into Vodafone and told them I wanted to drop my tariff (fully expecting it to be a tier a month) and she came back and said she'd been able to lower it straight down to £15 because the 'computer had let her'. It was probably a glitch in the system but I didn't complain lol!

I was told later that you have the biggest chance of this happening by going into store, apparently customer services will never do this.
