Refund Help

Hi, I ordered something on http://www.caraudiodiscount.com/

I bought an item on that website, they charged my card. They then changed my order to "back order", so I rang them up to which they replied they needed to cancel my order as the item isn't in stock. I agreed.

This was on the 14th and noticed the money hasn't been put back into my account so rang them up again today. They now are saying it will take 28 days for them to refund the money into my account!!!

Do I have any rights against this long time period?

Thanks

If you paid by credit card you can claim it through your credit card.

If not you can go to consumer direct, or threaten them with further action. Debit card refunds do not take 28 days. The company I work for is a PLC smallish and ours take up to 4 days regardless of where they are in the world.

Debit card :(. What further action would I threaten though? I had a skim read of the sales good act however I couldn't find anything about refunds

Edit: http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/after_you_buy/buying_at_home/returning-cancelling/#named4

They have 30 days :(. Time to write bad reviews about them all over the internet! They are just using my money to earn interest!

If it's a visa debit card you can still claim the money back! It's called visa debit chargeback apparently.

It is worth noting that it is not available with every visa debt card. It all depends on whether the bank has signed up to the scheme.

Infact have you checked that the website is legit on who is

mumbojumbo
Their T&Cs state that if items ordered are found to be unavailable within 14 days, they will notify you and give you the option to cancel and receive a refund within 7 days. If you don't cancel within the 14 days after such a notification then it can take up to 30 days.

Ah ha! Well I will ring them up tomorrow and state them this. I cancelled within 2 days.

To others, I will contact NatWest and see if they offer charge-back. The website does seem quite legitimate looking online at reviews and the registered address of the domain.

Thanks you so much everyone! HUKD never lets me down :)

the company is legit and I think they have a store in hammersmith (visited there to get my car stereo).
This was about 8 years ago though.

Just ask to speak to the manager, you always get numpties who work to the company policy. managers can push things along if they are good managers.

Give it a few more days if it's still not refunded then contact debit card company.

All banks that offer a visa debit card have to comply with the chargeback scheme.
