Well deserved IMO, Newcastle were poor ALL season and would have been a travesty if they survived, cue the mass sales, hope West Ham dont bid for Owen

No chance of that he's available on a free transfer

I agree anyway they both deserved to be relegated, I think it's all down hill for Boro from here.

It will be interested to see how many games Newcastle sell out next season, they do after all call themselves the best fans in the world :whistling:

I think Newcastle will go straight back up personally. Boro' I think, will struggle.

It depends, if they have a lot of players with relegation clauses they'll struggle. If they can keep hold of their better players for at least half of the season they'll do OK but their club isn't very well run so I can't see them being in a financial position to keep them.

If they play like they did today when they had to get one goal but didn't manage a single shot on target in the second half, then relegation might happen again next year.

I did actually want them to stay up for the derby games but after watching that pathetic display they totally deserve to be relegated.

Not many/any players have such clauses. What a poor team, they have been that bad all season and rightly (as gutted as I am) deserve to go down. I can't see us bouncing back up mind. Longest trip in league football now plymouth vs Nufc

LMAO...!! @ Newcastle and Bora

To be honest I feel a bit for Newcastle but have no sympathy for Bora and their dirty players.

Can't stand donkey face (Southgate)

Yes I hold a grudge, Euro 96

Ricky Sbragia has just resigned as sunderland manager

Wonder how many others will go in the next few days

Who thinks Shearer will stay? I think he'll be off too

i dunno it would all depend on the signing and players we lose over the summer - id say its realistic for a 4 - 6th palce finish next season - although it breaks my heart to see newcastle relegated i really think this will help the club get its act back together and one day come fighting back into the prem

going down wasnt the real shame, going down without any passion or fight whatsoever was.
this whole season has been a disgrace on and particularly off the pitch.
but i think this is the kick in the butt the team and the management needs, the whole team needs restructuring and building from the ground up.
we'll be back.
[mod]#17
I fear for Boro and Newcastle next season. I'm a Man City fan and when we got relegated we tumbled further before we climbed back up. Look at all the teams who were relegated from the Championship this season. All ex-Premiership teams. Different world that Championship. And look at Leeds. Jeez. WBA should be OK, they are used to life in that division, and they aint called boing boing Baggies for nothing.

we'll be back.

That's what Leeds said (and Coventry, Southampton, Nottingham Forest etc.)

I think Newcastle will offload a fair few players and then try and replace them with Spanish and South American 30-somethings who will heroically lead them to 9th in the league.

Any team that has 4 managers in one season deserves to go down.

If they had kept Sam Allardyce, I doubt they'd have been relegated.

But he wasn't getting them to play 'sexy football' was he:roll:

If they weren't so stupid as to employ the loonies thereafter, they may have stayed up too.

Two club 'legends' as well.
