Anyone know how to do it, wanted to mix a couple of songs. Is there any software that can do it. Free or not I don't mind

Very difficult to do without the background music changing significantly in various places.

What track is it that you want splitting?

you need the midi file of the track which you import into cakwalk, sonar or whichever software you use

you could try and EQ the vox out and re-record it, which will sound pretty bad I imagine, but not as bad as downloadable MIDI tracks, which are often innacurate anyway.
