Vax is too expensive to do could speak 2 landlord to see if he can get one but bleach and hot water, febreeze and oust looks like the cheap first option!

old person smell! not attractive if ur a young one!

sounds daft-but try an onion cut in half - it works for paint smells - cheap enough to be worth a try - just cut it in half and leave it on the side over night.

The plug in smelly things are quite good too-but dearer.

Bicarbonate of soda in a bowl might do the trick too - it absorbs cigarette smells - and cheap so worth a go - put some in a bowl and leave on the window sills for 24 hours.

Renting a vax is failry cheap (about £25 for the day). Might be worth it if the carpets are nice.

Even better see if the landlord will pay it!

landlord should have done the carpets before you moved in so should be more than happy to pay
id speak to them before renting one out yourself

Clean everything you can possibly clean, then febreeze the crap out of the place.

Paint the woodwork - the smell of that will take over and die down.

Kill the moths 1st, then simply remove the balls.
