Hi All,

After returning to my car after doing some shopping I noticed that someone has got like a key and Scratched up some of my cars bodywork, mostly around the back ontop of the boot and also on the bonnet. The Scratches arnt too deep I dont think, looks like it was done lightly, however hard enough so the Scratches are visible.

I'm going to try and just wax it out later today (if its not too cold) however can anyone recomend anything that will get it out?

I'll post some pics of the damage later..

Thx

Paint Renovator by Auto Glym is worth trying if the scratch hasnt penetrated to far into the paint.

T-Cut or you can buy a crayon type thing to fill in the scratch.

Maybe he was parked on or obstructing a pavement and a frustarated pedestrian took it out on his paintwork.
Maybe it was car-envy or maybe just a mindless act of vanalism.

Someone did that to my last car, the full way down the drivers side but really deep. Ended up paying £300 to have it resprayed.

DON'T use T-Cut... I tried it and it took the metallic out of my paint!!! Avoid it at all costs!!

I've used T-Cut to polish out scratches on my car but I've also heard that I shouldn't have used T-Cut but Mer, heard that from a few folks now and the most recent scratch was dealt successfully with Mer and came out a treat. http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=mer+car+polish&tag=googhydr-21&index=aps&hvadid=4796988259&ref=pd_sl_2kvezatzcj_b
I'm not sure which Mer was used on my car but I know the one I've seen used on another car (shown in Amazon link)

Sorry about the damage I know how it can be. Hope the scratches come out with as little effort as possible and not too hard on your pocket either.

Some guy in a clapped out camper parked by the side of my car (plenty of spaces round the corner) there was about a foot between his door and my car, on inspecting that side of the car he had notched a huge dent into my front wing. Got my key and put the longest and deepest scratch down his van you would ever have seen. I finished just as he walked out of the store and gave him one hell of an evil.

T-Cut scratch remover. Comes in a tube, its a thick paste.

As long as scratch isnt deep enough to show primer or bare metal you should be ok
