is the flat on the moon or in london or somewhere? £480 seems quite alot to me. Could you not get a mortgage for that much and buy a place.

Depends..... will you have gas and electric?
A land line phone and internet....you do mean ALL bills?
You need to find out what band the property falls into to know how much council tax it will be as well.... try looking on your council web site for that one.

Thats about the right price for a decent studio falt in chichester, Dont forget water rates either,

Best advice of all is dont try and overstrecth yourself, you might be better roughing it for a couple of years in a less desireable flat to help you save the cash for a deposit.

Also dont forget your gonna need money for furnishing etc unless it comes furnished, which i doubt for that price

studio in blackpool last year
Council tax was included but would have been around £60
Gas £24
Elec £16
Water was metered £20ish a month
got phone, net and sky for around £26 a month
contents insurance about £11
To be on safe side Id budget around £180- £200 on top of rent

I pay £25 electric here...I am out at work all day and don't have high use gadgets... living in a 2 bed flat so £16 for a studio seems about right...it's only going to be a couple of pounds either way.

Are you CRAZY?!?! I used to rent a brand new 2 bed penthouse flat in the middle of Birmingham for £800 a month and you've been offered a STUDIO in Chichester for nearly £500?!?! Obviously I don't know the price of housing down there but I think you're seriously being taken for a ride!! My Mum lives in a National Trust village and even houses there aren't that expensive! I think they've seen you coming because it must be a studio flat made from gold for that price!! I'd suggest you keep looking, really!!

You know nothing about property prices in Chichester so why bother commenting.

£480 is cheap, even for a studio, if it's inside the city walls,

But don't forget - rooms normally include all bills..........

Probably allowing another £200 on top for other bills would be about right (excluding sky/boradband)

Plus around £25-£30 per week for food, plus any money you spend on a car/public transport, and anything else you want to buy.......... it's very exspensive living on your own, make sure you can definately afford it before committing to anything.

One of the nicest cities on the South Coast. My ideal place to live would be Bosham, south of the A259 - I prefer the countryside.

Best of luck in your new home - you'll be desperately short of money all the time but it can be very character-forming! :)

Do they know you're not even 18?
You can't even have a valid tenancy agreement at your age.
