Hi all,

My parents are moving abroad. They do not which to sell their property but they would like to rent it out.

They have advertised it with a letting agency in the town but I was wondering if anyone knows of any good websites for them to advertise the property on?

The property is in Weymouth, Dorset

Thank you

Don't manage it yourself!! It's tempting to save on fees but ultimately can be hassle. Sometimes you get decent tennants and all is good, but if you don't it's so annoying

I know I didn't answer your question but you asked for advice. Website wise depends where your agent is currently advertising but local free paper, shop window still works. However like I say you take a gamble as to who you get!!

They have a couple of properties already rented out and they havent had any problems so far. Its a 5 bedroom house so they are looking for a family to move in and I will be in charge of the contract of the rental agreements. I know what you mean though as you do hear some horror stories but they will only let the property to someone they feel safe doing so to with a deposit in advance.

They have had 2 viewings so far but time is running out as they move in Feb so just looking for more ways to find someone looking for a place to rent

Property in Weymouth for rent? - you have short term property gold! DO NOT let go of it until after the Olympics next year. Rentable properties in the area will be at a premium very soon. I would advise you throw the net out nationally but as advised before DON'T let it yourself. Make sure you have some kind of rent insurance too - you will lose a few % of the rent, but it has proved worth it for us :( A good letting agency is a valuable asset too, as they will be checking the background of potential tenants.
