I want to do something for my dad for his birthday and he lost his parents when he was very young and only has one photo of them! It's old and has had something spilt on it. I've taken a photo of it and wondered if there was anything that can be done to make it look better as I want to have it blown up slightly? Thanks

You can probs scan it in to photoshop and try do a few minor repairs and adjust the brightness etc.

On the off-chance you still have the negatives lying around you can have them digitally scanned, which would be of good enough quality to enable enlargement of up to poster-like sizes.

It's not a lot for someone to work with as I cant take the actualy print out the house and it's stuck to the glass anyway

Only problem is I can't scan it as it's stuck to the glass and frame. It's a real nightmare.

Absolutey Lincoln, reflection from
The glass would make it a nightmare. Anyway this is what I do for a living, if you could get it out of the glass I could look at it for you, i'd be cheaper than any online restorers. Tony

is it meant to be stuck to the glass or has it just become stuck to it as its old? could you not try and peel it off really slowly, maybe start at the bottom so if it did start to ruin it it would only be at the corner.

Hi I will try and see if it will peel off but I didn't try before but as its been in there years it doesn't want to budge. If I can't is there anything you can do with the current photo for me? I'm desperate to get it done for him. If you can please pm me a price :)

Thanks to everyone else. I kno it looks impossible it's just a shame. It's the only photo he has of them! :(

Don't try and get it away from the glass - it will rip.

Scanning is out because of the reflection but if you've got a high megapixel camera, turn the flash off an light the room up. Take several photos until you have a decent one and then photoshop is the answer.

PM me the results of the photos and I'll do it for free for you.
