Good Luck All :)

I remember doing ****** all in college - I'd just spent 16 years at school trying hard & doing well (11 GCSE's) - so I decided to have a good time, partying & doing other naughty things :giggle:

I ended up with some [email protected] results, but still got into uni (why do uni's accept General Studies ? I went to 3 lessons & got a B in the exam lol).

Did well in uni anyway, got a 2:1 BSc Hons in IT (ps uni was another waste of time, but thats a different story).

Good Luck peeps

Good Luck everyone!!

I know it's a nerve-racking time but I hope you all get the results you need :)

Dont remind me! Think school opens at 10, so got 1 hour to go before I can find out how badly I did :p
#4
Leaving to get mine in 15 mins. Going to be a nerve racking time, even though they are just AS results and not A2.
#5
Good luck people.... especially to those with A2 results today...
Chris most Uni's don't count General Studies

my college opens at 11 but found out some results online

..and every year the newspapers say the same things. If everyone does better its cause the exams are getting easier. If everyone does worse its cause the teaching is rubbish...
Good luck!!

Not really pleased with results, but considering I havent been taught since I was 15 (havent even had work sent home! Taught myself from books), and was ill when I took the exams, I suppose they arent that bad

E - business studies (only done 4 out of 6 units though, so when I do the other 2 in the next few months this will improve)
D - Economics
D - General Studies
C - Sociology

At least I passed them all

I am so sad! I was one mark away from a C in english. One mark!!! :-( :-( Gutted!!!

I had a B in ICT and a C in history.

And they were A level results so no retakes.

Just a thought Bryan, & I know you've only just had these results but had you considered appealing your grade (def the English, pos the History if you were again close).

If you genuinely believe you should have done better, had better predicted grades & know that your Principal would agree (hey the better the results the better his/her school/college looks) then go for it.

It will cost you a few quid if you fail to get the mark(s) upgraded but if it is then this money is refunded. Interesting article from the Independent.
Last year out of 9.5k appealed 2k were upgraded....& for all those worried about their marks falling...there was ONE reported case last year.

The closing date for an appeal for a recheck this year is Wednesday September 5.

I got an A for economics and history, B for critical thinking and english literature and C for maths :-( But these are only AS levels so I'm going to be retaking most of my exams in January:)
