Returning a game to tesco

Bought cod black ops off tesco last week and accidentally ordered the ps3 version instead of the xbox one. What would they say if I took it in store and asked for an exchange for the xbox one? Should I tell them it's from tesco entertainment or lie and say it's from instore? could they tell by scanning the barcode?

They should deal with it instore. If it is sealed they will allow you to exchange it for a different one but if its not they may only offer you a replacement of the same title due to there copyright refund policy.

Best thing to do is head down and find out :)

Tesco entertainment are seperate from Tesco in-store so the only way to get a refund would be to send it back to the Tesco Ent address they give you and re-order the version you want. Even if you took it in-store and wanted to exchange it, they would need to see your store receipt before doing so anyway.
Some Tesco's have a "Tesco Entertainment" store in them aswell. The big Tesco in Hatfield, Hertfordshire does.

A quick Google would have revealed:

We believe you'll be delighted with your purchase, but if for any reason you'd like to return an item within 7 working days of receiving the delivery, just follow this simple process.

•Choose your returns reason from the back of the despatch note and tick the box.
•Use the peel off label from the despatch note and attach it to the front of the original packaging.
•Don't forget to include the despatch note.
•Please use the Royal Mail when returning the package.
The Small Print

1.The product must be returned with the original packaging intact.
2.We regret that Tesco cannot be held responsible for non-delivery of returned goods so we recommend you get a certificate of posting from the Post Office.
3.If an item has been returned for any reason other than a product fault or a mistake we’ve made, you will be refunded the cost of the goods and the post and packaging charges but not the return postal charges.
4.Your statutory rights are not affected.
5.Items bought at the entertainment warehouses cannot be returned to a Tesco store.
6.Clubcard points will be removed from your account at the rate of one point per pound refunded.
