ASDA are normally really good with faulty electrical goods. I took my Xbox 360 back to ASDA and they replaced it with a brand new one no problems at all. So long as you have the receipt you should be fine. Don't let them fob you off by saying you need to contact Nintendo as they have an obligation as the seller of the item to sort it out themselves.
