Had a look on the interwebz, couldn't find any answer so asking the trusty (sexy) people of HUKD.

I bought a wireless headset from eBay, then from Gamestation (and used the GS one) but now I'm stuck with this one and I'm wondering if I could return the eBay one (exact same condition) to Gamestation for a refund.

Basically will it scan the barcode as usual or not recognise it and will the store manager tell me to get out his shop and never return?

Well since the last time I went in there to return a faulty Portal 2 that would crash every time half way through the game and they said I have to trade it in (and lose £15) because they couldn't be bothered playing through to see the crash, I feel a little abused. So yeah, they owe me. I'm on the wrong side of the law since they screwed me over :/ CALL ME CRAZY!

Nope.

I suspect if you're asking you already know the answer!

Not at all, just curious if it'll work or not to save me putting it on ebay as I'm going out today and will pass Gamestation on my way. The only problem will be if they scan it and find that it's not the same one I bought from them.

Can you not check if the barcodes are the same?
#8
should probably be fine, as the barcode is the product code, and as long as the products are identical, including packaging, there shouldn't be any issues. Correct me if i'm wrong though...

Right just done that, they are the same however on the opposite side there's a sticker that says "lot number..." and "work order..." and they're both different. I think it should be okay actually unless there's any objections?

Just return it, you shouldn't run into any trouble. The barcode will be the same and they're not going to check any of the other codes.

You should of demanded a refund on Portal though, that's shocking service.

Give it a try then, if in doubt loud righteous indignation in a busy shop usually works.

I know, being the push over chump I am just said "is there nothing else I can do?" and then proceeded to say "I'll just trade it in then", pathetic, I know...

i'd send it back but i have no ethics when it comes to this subject ;)
#14
Take,it back to em em they overprice everything anyway...don't take there excuses remember the customer is always right

If they turn around and go 'this isn't the same' then you just go 'oops i picked up the wrong one'.

It's not like they will call the police or anything, the worst they will do is not accept it.

It is done. I got a full refund for it, which only goes to show that Gamestation people are really bad judges of character. And that you don't always need to return a product to the same store you bought it from if you have a receipt. I feel like V, getting revenge... for GS's cruel thrust last time they raped me out of £15 :D

Have you reported this to their customer service phone number? If they sold you a faulty game, they have to give you a replacement not tell you to trade it in.
