I can't see why they wouldn't as you have the receipt and it is still sealed.

I can't see any reason why they wouldn't let you return it.

They shouldnt, but they can.
Why dont you sell it?

Woops, i meant i don't have the receipt.

ive returned a game to ASDA unwrapped and they accepted it so unless your ASDA has very nasty staff then it should be ok.
#6
now i see, you have no receipt then prob not unless you could prove it.

i returned a DVD to asda once - the disk was faulty but i had thrown away the receipt. i just wanted a disk that worked and they were very helpful. I don't know if i was just lucky. I guess the best way to find out is to go and ask.

As it's still sealed, they'll almost certainly be prepared to let you exchange it for something else instore. They don't have to, but it's just good customer service.

Doesn't your Mum still have some evidence of the purchase of her copy so that you can take the sealed one back to wherever she bought hers?

go swap it for some haribo, that will keep you happy

Check if its on sale 1st as you have no proof of when it was bought you will only get the sale price refunded

Sorry they will not give you anything without a receipt. A lot of shops are now like this even though the game/dvd/cd is sealed. Go and try, but pick a younger person they might be a bit generous

not the case m8-I work for asda-specifically for home and leisure department-since september company policy has been to exchange any game/cd/dvd without question, whether its sealed or not and whether they have a receipt or not.

not legally obliged I know but it is asda policy now-staff have joked that we have become a lending library because of this!

That's very good to know!

Edit: Exchange OK, but can you give money back?

no refund without receipt but they will give you the money on a gift card if you dont want an exchange-if you have a receipt cash refund no problem.

I would say on average my store takes back about 100 game/cd/dvd per week-we know some people are taking the mickey because they know asda policy but this is what management have decided-they think it gives us an edge over our competitors cos we do this.

And they're right, too. The stores that look after customers are far more likely to do well than those who don't. That's why Dixons Group is in such a mess - years of lousy customer service. Wonder how long they're going to be around on the High Steet.
