All their dysons appear to be included in the 30 day money back guarantee

would say this on their website if it wasn't
"Please note that this product is excluded from our 30 Day Money Back Guarantee. This does not affect your statutory rights."

Though it does say unused so make sure it's really clean
"If I change my mind...

Within 30 days

* Most things we sell are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee, so just return them to us unused, in their original undamaged packaging, in a saleable condition, with your receipt and we’ll give you a refund.
* If you don't have your receipt, as long as you have a proof of purchase* we'll exchange the item or give you a refund with vouchers.
* If you'd like to return something we've delivered, just call us on 0845 640 0800 and we'll collect it for free. Your order number will count as your receipt.
* We're sorry but some items like earrings, foot spas and dental products can't be exchanged or refunded for hygiene and safety reasons, unless they're faulty.
* To protect your personal security, we are also unable to accept returns on some non-faulty imaging and recording products such as MP3 players and digital cameras.
* If a product is excluded from our 30-day money-back guarantee, it is clearly marked by a † next to the product name in the catalogue and on this website.
* Our 30-day money-back guarantee does not affect your statutory rights."

Yeah just tell them it doesnt work properly, doesnt suck as well as it should etc and they will refund without a problem.. had several issues with hoovers and taken them back without problems..
#6
so do i admit we have used it and just say it didn't work properly, problem with suction
#7

They'll offer you a replacement first, they don't HAVE to give you a refund in this instance but they probably will. If they later find it wasn't faulty you might find yourself banned from Argos like people who return stuff to Amazon undamaged.

so whats the best thing to do
#11
Just say it doesnt suck as strong as you were hoping so therefore its not really suitable.

How exactly can they ban you from argos..? Think about what you are saying,. Its a store with 500 individual shops and if you have either payed cash for the original dyson, or will pay cash in the future for your items there is not a chance in hell they can stop you from using them.. seriously if the hoover is not up to its intended purchase use (not fit for puropse is the exact legal term) you can take it back and they will refund, if they offer a replacement tell them that you have heard its an inherant design fault and the replacement will be just as crap (have used that one too)

You will be fine ..luckily argos are pretty good with returns.. :)

Firstly it's not a Hoover it's a Dyson  :p

Secondly they take your address so they could if you abuse their system get a court order to forbid you from entering one of their stores, breach of which would result in you receiving a fine or worse :w00t:

Besides you are all helping her commit fraud

sigh..its not fraud..if the hoover..dyson :whistling: is not fit for the purpose (ie the amount of sucking required :p) you can return it for a refund under the sale and supply of goods act..

Just back from Argos, got the refund. When i said suction, she looked at my like i was mad because dysons are so good, told her i had another dyson and it wasn't the same, also said struggled with moving it. Anyway not sure they believed me but got the refund anyway. So thanks for all your comments and advice

Just read the other posts - don't feel like i'm committing fraud, when yes it certainly didn't live up to its name, i only went for dyson due to its ease of use and the fact that it is usually so brilliant so me wanting to take this back because it was rubbish i think was legitimate
#19
Yes it was legit, my dyson is a godsend, but if it was acting crap id take it back to argos and demand a refund

The OP didn't say it couldn't suck she/he didn't even say anything was wrong with it other than they didn't like it!
