i've got the virgin media box on RGB scart to the DVD recorder which connects by RGB scart to the TV

my question is, would i see any image quality improvement on my channels if i used component cables from the DVD recorder to the TV? or is the image quality bottlenecked by the scart connection to the DVD recorder?

No but you would see an improvement in your DVD picture quality. I've never used component cables, only RGB phono cables so couldn't tell you how much of an improvement.

Component video has better separation than composite, but about the same as RGB. However, Component supports 576p so your DVD playback via the recorder should look slightly better. We're not talking huge amounts tho.

To answer the original question, no. The output is only as good as the source device.

RGB component can carry full 1080p HD signal (obviously no sound though, the ONLY HDMI advantage is that it will carry HD audio as well), but how this will work with RGB scart? dunno?

Quick Question, I have a virgin media box, connect's via SCART.. is it possible to get a SCAT to Componet or HDMI? Also will this improve the picture?

My comment above should've answered this question without needing to post :-D

The output is only as good as the source device.

This is true, but in this instance, the output is only as good as the worst type of connector in the chain
