An amp I'm looking at is £10 dearer at my nearest store in Belfast than it is online. Do you think I've a chance of getting it at the online price?

probably if you just ask, ive found the staff in Richer Sounds stores to be very helpful.

Or if it's in Comet, go there, show the online price and they should match it, they did for us!
#3
They would be idiots if they didnt let you have it at the same price.
#4
I would have thought they would price match their own web-price (they do have a price-match 'guarantee' after all!)

GET THIS ITEM IN-STORE AND...

* Beat The Web
* Save delivery costs
* Pick up today

Please note the web price may be cheaper than the price shown in store, so please mention that you've seen this offer online.

Please phone to check stock if you are making a special journey.

Except my local one refused as they came up with the supposedly lie that Richer Sounds only sells "B" grade.

It's Richer Sounds policy to give you the web price if you tell them you have seen it on their website at a lower price. Perhaps take a printout with you of the item you want

Thanks for the advice, comrades. Richer did match the web price but the new dilemma is that the Cambridge £69.95 amp I was charged for turned out to be the £119.95 one when I took it home from Belfast to Derry! What's the moral view on this?

What moral view? It's not your problem anymore!

Oh and congratz on your bargain!

Well the fact that I've been given a unit, probably accidentally, which is almost twice the price than the model I asked for. I realise that if I call the store they'll probably tell me to forget it, especially since I'm 65 miles away and they'd be out more money replacing it.
My real concern is that the shop assitant might get into trouble in light of a stock check, no?

Sssssh! Don't give it another thought, they won't get into a lot of trouble anyway if its a Cambridge amp, they shift plenty and must make a decent profit on them... Just enjoy it! :thumbsup:

(If you do tell them they are probably even more likely to get in trouble as they will know exactly who made the error...)

Thanks for that - case closed.
