Some blank VHS tapes from my gran. So retro I think they might be cool.
She must have had them lying around and just decided that I could use them.

I'm generally pretty lucky with Christmas gifts, never tend to get anything bad apart from one year my Nan bought me Manchester United monopoly - just about one of the worst things a Liverpool fan can get!

I usually let people know what I want for Christmas as I am pretty hard to buy for. However, my grandparents tend to ignore all that and just buy me stuff they think I would like................ it tends to be novelty socks, underwear and chocolate each and every year! Bless them!

One year my husband bought me a mop for christmas - the following year he bought me the bucket to go with it - the year after that he bought me a measuring jug which had the markings on the inside so i could see how much liquid i had put in without having to pick it up to read it - when i looked a bit peeved with his latest pressie he added - 'it's made by pyrex' - not bad for someone who has been with me for 28 years - but his present present yet was this year - NOTHING - well I suppose it means I have nothing to get upset over :)

:giggle: A DVD I had ordered for the house :giggle: Came in mums name so she thought she had ordered it for me, and then wrapped it! I had forgotten about it (only ordered a week or so before xmas) until I opened it!

One year my sister-in-law bought me what looked like a hand-knitted jumper (don't know where she got it from). On the front it had a night-time scene of a black cat sitting on a brick wall eyeing a big rat crawling in front of the wall - this whole scene was lit up by the light of the moon shining down.
It was the most horrific thing I have ever seen. I took a photograph of it so I would never forget then I gave it back to her and said could I choose something else instead.

That just reminded me!
I was shopping a couple of days before christmas and my mum wouldn't have time to go shopping but still needed some gifts. So she called me up asking me to get a couple of presents for her friend's son who is a bit older than me. I said that I'd do my best and even though I don't know him that well I felt I had picked some decent enough presents for him. Got home, mum gave me the money for them and I thought that was that. Come Christmas day, my mum gives me my presents, I open them to find the items that I had bought earlier that week! She made me go and buy my own Christmas presents! I found it pretty funny but the only thing was that when I was buying for her "friend's son" I was looking for gifts, not that I would like but what I thought he would like. I ended up taking the stuff back and exchanging it for something I preferred.

At least you wanted your present Kelly! Even though you did pay for it yourself! lol

Hubbys auntie sent me an unwrapped basket in a xmas gift bag. Being nosey i couldn't resist...pulled it out the bag..said to the kids 'well this is out of date cos she's ripped the sticker off'.Selection of mini jams, choc chip cookies, and speciality teas...all ran out between April and September 2006 :x Needless to say she is on my **** list this year..

P.S Hubby once bought me an oven glove cos i kept burning myself on tea towel lol
