Don't do anything hasty wulshaz. I would just get a trim and keep it healthy. Then talk to the hairdresser and see what she/he thinks suits your face shape. You could experiment with fancy pony tails making little twists there is a name for this but i cant remember what its called.
chignon i think.

a lot of hairstyles will ultimately depend on the type of hair you have, thick, thin, fly away, course, straight, wavy, curly etc.
My hair is very thick with a natural wave so I tend to keep mine shoulder length in a graduated bob. takes some looking after with the wave so I have mine chemically straightened about every 8-10 months.

the good thing about my style is it looks long at the front but is shorter from the back. I hate short hair on me too as I also think I look butch :w00t:
have a word with your hairdresser about being chemically straightened as it doesnt suit everyones hair, and can be pricey. Im lucky as I only pay £40 a time, including cut and styling, coz my hairdresser lets the trainees have a go under his watchful eye. Takes about 3 hours in total from start to finish. I have to condition really well after and nip back after a couple of weeks to have the ends trimmed as they go very dry and brittle.
