Just back from here today, just thought id write a wee review incase anyone finds useful.

Wooler itself is a small village, not a lot in it, but its in an ideal location - about 40min-1hr from Newcastle and about 2hrs from Glasgow.

The caravan park was immaculate as was the caravan. They have 2 types of caravan, standard and superior. We stayed in a standard, seemingly theres not much difference between the two, the main diff is the superior have central heating and dvd player.

Our caravan was lovely, spacious, clean, and had everything youd need contained inside, We arrived in the evening so it was really cold and on the 1st night we found it really difficult to heat up - but there after it was fine.

The site has a shop, which doesnt stock much but may stock more in higher season.
Bar/restuarant, family enytertainment bar, fishing pond, kids play area, pool, swimming with small Jacuzzi.

We didnt eat in the resturant, they serve meals until 10pm, but the menu is limited although serves all favourites ie lasagnue, steak pie, fish & chips etc. Main meals were about £8.

The park is really peaceful & quiet, loads of bunny rabbits running around, although lots of dead ones too unfortunatley since dogs are allowed on the park.

Id say the site could be doing with some extra lighting as it was really quite dark at night so take a torch!

Wooler itself is really small, theres a few hotels & bars, no restuarants apart from hotel restuarants... only a couple of small cafes and couple of take aways... only 1 place open for food after 10pm and that shut at 11.30 !
Not a great place for eating out - id advise to be prepared to cook in the caravan.

Overall an ideal base to explore from, go for this if you want good clean accommodation and a nice quiet, holiday.

Any questions, just ask ! Carol x

On sunday we drove around but didnt really know where we were going lol - and the direction we did go was just all farm land ... there was an area with a castle and wild cattle thats as far as we went :)

Aww glad you had a good time. The alnwick gardens at the castle have lovely water sculptures so if you seen those then that`s the right one. I`m a bit like you lol kinda forget the names of the sites I`ve seen. Cant wait for my turn back down there in a couple of weeks:-D

I never saw any fountains but the gates to the castle we were at were closed?? Maybe since it was a sunday? Not sure but yeh you'll have a fab time when u go!! Think next time we go we'll try Berwick though. as I think that would suit us better as theres a bit more to do in the area (and more places to eat).
