I relaise this is not a deal exactly but this could help many people on this site. I found this article on the Parkers Guide web site today.

Basically if you have to tax your car in the next 2 months concider buying 6 months tax now and 12 months just before road tax rises in April 2009.

There is a simple car tax search on Parker web site to help you calculate possible savings. The £70 shown in the title is the saving for a Band F car.

we were ummin and arring of wether to get rid, but its bought and paid for, and is an old workhorse, can practically get anything in it, dogs, kids, furniture etc...........so gonna have to bite the bullet and pay up! :roll:

if you tax your car later in the year you can ask for a refund for the remaining months at the end of february and buy another 12 months before the new rate (think they come in on the 15th March). Doing this will save me about 210 quid....my car tax is going up from about 210 to 420 next year :(
