Roadside recovery who do you think are the best?

That ruddy citroen c5 managed to drive for a whole 13 miles before conking out lol

Ruddy thing I dont know why my dad doesnt just count his losses with the thing,he picked it up from the citroen garage and was on his way to see me when it died on a roundabout,he managed to get it over to the side of the road, called me and then we got the rac out to it who wanted to take it back to the same garage, eventually they took it to an independent garage who are going to run a load of tests on it to find out why it keeps cutting out in the most dangerous situations such as motorways, climbing hills etc, when this happens it stalls the engine and there is a loss of braking and steering, hopefully they can cure the problem once and for all but at this rate its going to end up having more spent on it than its worth!

Anyhow the aa came out to it broken down on sunday, its been in the citroen garage since monday, came out today, broke down again, rac came out and is back in a garage, what a wonderful week lol

The aa were good but the rac guy was great, who do you think are the best for roadside recovery?

RAC are great, whenever I've broken down they've been with me within 10 mins. One even dropped me to pick up a courtesy car after he towed mine to my garage for fixing.

RAC for me, i drive 30,000 miles per year and get great comfort when i go past the operation centers on the motorway, you don't get that with the AA!

green flag were absolutely brilliant for us when my GF locked our 6 month old baby in the car on her own with the keys!

RAC were good when I broke down & towed me further than they should have as I was quite far from home but the garage they took me to was shockingly bad and sadly it's where all my problems began - luckily I've flogged that car now anyway!

lol - indeed it was chaos, the spare key was almost a 2hr drive away & I was another 1 hour extra to that away at work in a team meeting introducing me to the team as it was my 1st week in a new job!

I spent most of the team meeting outside on the phone trying to understand what was going on cuz my GF hardly had any service but had to go out of sight of the car to get some :-o

My GF spent the 15mins wait for them to turn up (& she only knew where she was by looking out of the holes in the multistory she was in and telling the driver what she could see!) dancing around the car to keep the little one occupied - bless - she didn't even cry until the big GF bloke turned up and smiled through the window at her!

lol - it all turned out OK though :)

They were seriously brill as were the pru who out me in touch with them when I called them only knowing my GF's name, I didn't have the number plate or policy number or anything & didn't know we had GF cover chucked in with the insurance.

heh the best bit is we got the insurance & green flag cover for £60 fully comp for the year cuz of a post on here using quidco cashback :)

anyway I'm rabbling a lot now!

edit - lol just read that back you'll have to translate which GF's are girlfriend & which are Green Flag I can't be bothered to change them now!

One on the M6 in Birmingham and one near Bristol on the M5 I saw a bloke on the phone broken down on the hard shoulder waving at the HUGE building on the M5 he was obviously trying to get there attention but it was verry funny:-D

AA has more breakdown but far more members, RAC are best ratio, Never more than an hour away for me on the motorbike ;)

I run a commercial and AA are brilliant, although I usually have to be subbed out to a local large vehicle recovery company.
I also have free green flag through my bank account but have never had to use it yet.

I only have experience with RAC and have to say they normally come out within an hour. One time my alternator went and there were no RACs operating at 12am so they got an independent recovery truck to tow me and my car home. Problem was they were situated 2 and a half hours drive away and meanwhile I was sat in my car freezing my **** off in the middle of winter. Dunno if you can blame RAC for that but apart from that RAC have been OK for me.

you can use tesco vouchers with RAC
