With trillions of past bad news, each new action offends someone by linking action with social media as there are millions of interpreters waiting to be offended on behalf of others.

I think it offended the relatives of those who were beheaded?

He's got a point though. There's not much anyone could do without offending someone, somewhere.

At least I think that's what he was saying, you can never be sure with him :)

They would never have seen it but for the media. They seem to take great pleasure in finding anything that they can wave about and see if people are offended.

Can we also spare a thought for John Cantlie still being held by Isis.

So why did his wife post it on Instagram?

Not to mention "every picture tells a story"!

Why get offended by this?

Bit pointless.

It's bloody clumsy, but if it raises awareness of John Cantlie's current plight then great.

From what I read he was actually acting out something from Game Of Thrones while messing about with some friends.

Exactly, in sharp contrast, there is an absence of another equal sized audience ready on the social network to take praises on behalf of others.

I don't know. Why did the media have to publish it? Is showing that Rod Stewart did a dickish thing on the public interest?

When there are people who are happy to take offence, one has to test if there are people who are equally happy to take praises onbehalf of others. namely, the opposite, "when it is good, does anyone remembers and post it".

I personally wasn't offended, but was thinking more about the victims families, it's definitely no comparison to Charlie Hebdo where people were offended and blew peoples heads out.

I got on a bus with backpack the other day, I whole heartedly apologise to all 7/7 victims.

So he was messing around, acted out GOT, happend to be on a sand dune and people are flipping their nuts.

Do people really take mainstream media seriously anymore?

While he is a great singer, I fail to understand when he says "Understandably, this has been misinterpreted", its a disgusting reenactment subject, and he has lost any respect I had for him at his age he aught to know better!

Surely the opposite of taking offence is not taking offence and as it can be seen from this thread there are plenty of people happy to report their lack of offence on social media. Just like there are people who will take made up Left Wing Socialist propaganda and present it on social media as an example of ethnic cleansing in 21st Century Britain.

Then they can be offended, it's not like it'll kill them.

Oh noes, I've had my feelings hurt, I must whinge like a child

Just add him to the list - Fred Goodwin, Philip Green, various politicians and celebrities .... and no doubt a few Olympic cyclists and athletes to be disgraced in future years. The latest in line of increasingly ill-judged knighthoods - his music has surely offended people more than this over the decades. For me, the entire honours system lost all credibility when we somehow ended up with Sir Tony Robinson (Baldrick). :|
