I don't envy the person who had the job of Courtroom Artist at Rolf Harris' trial.
Talk about pressure..

This one has stunned me far more than any of the others. I grew up watching him on TV, used to love Rolf's Cartoon Club and was always a little bit envious of the kids that got to go on there. In Animal Hospital he always gave the impression that he was a good, kind-hearted guy, showing genuine compassion and shedding the odd tear when the animals were really poorly.

I really hoped that he'd be found not guilty, that he was the victim of the hysteria stirred up in the wake of Saville and the media circus surrounding him.

I'm quite gutted really. If someone as seemingly squeaky clean can be capable of this, how many more are there like him?

I'm not angry Rolf. I'm just really, really disappointed.

Anyone singing a song about 2 little boys playing gayly on summer days is always going to be a little bit suspect.

Im surprised at how his daughter and wife have stood by him. Father/husband or not, I could not stand by someone who has done what he has.

I guess it could be a case of not wanting to believe what they heard. And beside they stood by him when he was on trial and could have been found innocent. In all honesty If I was in their shoes am not sure how i'd react.

That's disappointing to hear :( I always liked Rolf.

Out of interest, did he ever confess or admit to any of it? Or is it a case where the evidence is simply too great hence guilty? Legit question.

i think he denied everything, i read few week ago that he said that his daughters friend was OBSESSED with him, and i think his daughter also said she was

kinda weird tbh

as for all these dirty old men being caught out, easy way for the police now is just arrest anyone who looks weird lol that seems to be the pattern

glitter, savill. harris - all kinda weird looking

Yeah, last I remember hearing he was still denying it, so I'm curious to know if he caved in or if it was a case where it was determined he was guilty, rather than openly admitting it or confessing.

It certainly has turned into quite the witch hunt, I've really lost interest with the whole thing... All these people coming out of the woodwork to suddenly accuse high profile people many, many, many years after the (alleged) fact are a bit suspect to me.

Obviously I don't condone any of the offences committed or accused, but I do find the scale to be somewhat... far fetched? Unless they were simply all part of a massive celeb paedo ring, I dunno...

Oh without a doubt - if it was happening then the corruption goes the whole way up: senior executives of said companies, hospital administration, senior police etc, lets not forget the politicians.

Although, if the politicians were caught, I'd say it's a safe bet that a loophole would be found that makes it OK and entitles them to a healthy redundancy package along with all of the associated bonuses, rather than the more fitting public flogging and execution.

He's out on bail.

I was going to post the ROFL-copter on my Facebook with a joke underneath, but some people might take it the wrong way.....

At the very least, it reminds the public that an affable, successful man is capable of such vile crimes. Even more shocking that it's such a well-loved children's entertainer. I always assumed he was harmless, but it's silly to judge someone by their TV persona. (Just think of Hughie Green, etc...).

These people are very manipulative, charming and show a variety of faces to the world. Sickening. Rot in jail, Rolf.

You can't judge a book by its cover.

Google Cathy O'Brien, supposed victim of mind control and sexual abuse by powerful people.

Sadly, I don't think other cases will receive the publicity that these celeb cases do.

Also, this may be me being pessimistic but I do feel that the reason these cases have been brought forward is from victims seeking compensation. Whilst I in no way condone what these perverts have done, I do not feel that because it was a celebrity who may or may not have money that committed them should the victims go seeking compensation. What about all the other victims of such crimes committed by people with no money?

Foul pig he is. I work with someone he tried to molest when she was young.

I don't understand how a grown man can look at a child and seek sexual pleasure. I only see innocence and vulnerability in children.

In the US they don't play around when it comes to paedophiles. Louis Theroux has done a few documentaries on the subject. I seem to remember that castration is a valid treatment for the predators over there.

Same. I liked Rolf. I was kinda hoping he was innocent although I guess that even if he had been found not guilty there would always have been an element of doubt.

I don't suppose they choose to be sexually attracted to children and I expect a lot of men (and women) are. It's just that the vast majority of those people know it's wrong and can keep their thoughts inside their head.

I didn't expect it from Rolf Harris.
I grew up with him on the tv as a sort of grandfather figure, he looked after sick animals, painted pictures, sang funny songs etc.

I was pretty shocked when I read the letter his daughter had written him...

She sounds like a nasty piece of work, such a gold digger.

I think that the answer to my first question. Some people would do anything for money. I could not live with myself. I read somewhere that she knew he was doing things to her friend. What kind of person turns a blind eye to that?

A GREEDY ONE!

Like some others on here, I was very saddened to hear about Rolf Harris and his involvement in child sex offences. A regular part of our PSHE lessons in school involved a video made by him called Kids Can Say No. I find it appalling to read that he was involved in some of his crimes at the same time as making the video. Like Miikey, deeky, sicklysweet and others, I am genuinely shocked and saddened. It just goes to show that the persona people present publicly can hide a different character.
