Not good news for Utd's run in, maybe a big sigh of relief from England fans though. Just hope he recovers for the world cup and doesn't aggrevate it during it. Read More

Sky sources say that Wayne Rooney is expected to be out for between two and four weeks, after injuring his ankle in last night's Champion's League tie.

England fans get your prayer mats out.

nooooo aggrevate it, i don't care about Englands fortunes, united come first. Stick an injection in him :-(

This will be the perfect way to silence the critics of a great team when they cope without Rooney. Whilst they beat a relatively poor Bolton and Wolves team, they will need to be on their game against Chelsea and Bayern.

I have every faith.

I think United will struggle a little without Owen and Rooney now, Berbatov just isn't up to the job, though I could be totally wrong.
#5
And !
#6
They've still got own goals to score a few, he's played quite well this season, 11 isnt it so far?
#7
Rooney has been having pain-killing injections just to get him on the pitch over the last 6 weeks.

Separate injury, this enforced lay-off could be the best thing for him as a few informed people didn't think that he'd be fit for world cup duty.

Fingers crossed

rooney is crap anyway ...........................

I wonder what this will do for their title hopes now, if ever there was a time for Berbatov to 'step up to the plate' now is surely that time.

Wayne Rooney notched his 99th goal for Manchester United as the Premier League champions opened up their title defence with victory over Birmingham.

The striker tapped in after his header from Nani's cross rebounded off the post back into his path on 34 minutes.

have faith in sir alex, he will pull us through, we won loads without rooney yrs ago, we can do it again, 2-1 deficit, we can turn that around at OT.
Next few games is gonna test our mettle, but the 4th prem trophy is going to be ours, CL will be the toughest one to crack.
