"Rose" in Doctor Who: Unusually annoying?

Did anyone see tonight's Doctor Who episode? What on earth was up with Rose's speech?

Was Billie Piper talking through her teeth or something? It sounded like she'd just been to the dentist for a filling and had a nasty shot of anaesthetic...

Discuss. =D

She Had A Brace In

Ah, that'd explain it!! Welcome to HUKD. :)
#8
she looked much older too
#9
Perhaps she's had her teeth capped?

Perhaps it wasn't really Rose

Why the whole 'bad wolf' thing again? That was soooo series one!

Okay without giving out spoilers, what did Bad Wolf refer to in series 1 - & remember that there's only a few episodes left to this series so the whole bees/stars going out thing is coming to a head - what could be the cause ? & put a twist on that. (God I'm a geeek !!! - help)

Well considering what happened in the season finale and that in the next time trailer you saw a shot of the same race hmmmm,
#13
I think they shoved a lot of time/resources into the season finale this year, with there being no Dr Who series in 2009... hence the huge number of different characters and the reminders/tie-ins with Torchwood and The Sarah-Jane Adventures (the two spin-offs)...

This doctor who ep was like the series so far, rubbish at the start and better at the end.
Catherine Tate is a good comedian, but a very bad actor.

I don't know. She's not been too bad...

This episode and the last episode seemed to be "fillers", though... both filmed at the same time (hence no Doctor in one, no assistants in the other).

I KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS!!!!

she was from a different universe ;-) maybe they all speak like that LOL

Actually most think its the other way around, shes bad at comedy but great as an actor.

Shes better than Martha and around equal to Rose imo

I was surprised to find I like Catherine Tate - she brings a bit of humour & there's no constant fawning over the Doctor.

Awh. I really felt sorry for Martha when she liked the Doctor and he didn't even realise... or at least pretended he didn't.

This series has been weaker though. Some excellent episodes then filler episodes. The guy who wrote the one with the Angel Statues (?Blink) is taking over from Russell Davies & I think he's a strong writer.

I agree with all of that... I prefered the last series, although this one was still EXCELLENT. Russell will be sorely missed, although his replacement is excellent (I loved the Blink episode).

Still liked Christopher Eccelstone best - Big Brother ep, Simon Peg ep etc, there were a lot of good/clever stories in that series, & Captain Jack hadn't got creepy yet (too much botox possibly - now he looks weird now !) :).

I'm not sure about this bit, though. Whenever I imagine a Christopher-Eccleston "Who" moment, I always seem to imagine it as though David Tennant is playing the part. Eccleston was the nation's favourite Doctor Who for a while, although I think his short-lived appearance means that the order will revert back to David Tennant in 1st place, and Tom Baker in 2nd. I think David is a really strong actor to be honest... I thought that even when I saw him in "Blackpool" (TV show, not the place...).

Not good is it. Apparently he's going to do some stage work.

He has nooooooooooooooo idea what he's putting me through!

What about sylvester mccoy? Was he before or after Peter Davidson

There will be 4 episodes between this series and the series in 2010, although I presume that this includes the two Christmas specials.

It's partly because David Tennant isn't available for filming this summer as he's off acting for the RSC. :)
#23
P.S. Peter Davidson and his then-wife sang the theme tune to 80's kids' classic "Button Moon".

Just thought I'd throw that in for random-ness.
#24
Who's going to be the assistant next series? Still Catherine Tate?
#25
It was a huge improvement on last weeks episode which was the most pointless boring and annoying episode of doctor who ive ever watched lol. I also noticed her voice and it was annoying.

Bad wolf reffered to Rose, so what is the twist :?
The last 2 seasons have been a long story arc leading to these final 2 episodes so it should be a good finale, and bad wolf has been in a couple of times in the past couple of years too (Gridlock & an episode of torchwood are 2 that come to mind).

My wife and I noticed the lisp/mumbling voice as well. In another forum someone who's usually well keyed in all things Doctor Who mentioned that in a recent interview Billie had said she'd forgotten how she'd played Rose in the past, and was trying to remember/relearn how to speak Chav when they filmed this episode...
#28
Wait, Wait, Wait. Billie's back?
#29
Next series isnt for a long time as there wont be one next year.
Plus the next assistant might be the woman who knew the doctor from a few episodes ago, the library i think it was called.

I never watched doctor who before it was remade with billie piper and chris eccleston i thought it was the best series on tv at the time and then they kill of chris eccleston and ruin it

David tennant is a good actor but he just doesnt suit the role - theyve killed the series i mean wtf why is catherine tate in there --season 1 was good and thats it
