Does a DSL Router act as a basic Ethernet switch?
Basically due to the house layout and other factors etc etc we have the internet layed out as this:
Wall -> ADSL Modem Router -> powered 8 port Switch -> Pc 1 (downstairs) + Pc 2 (Upstairs)
Now i need to have it set up like this:
Wall -> ADSL Modem Router -> powered 8 port Switch -> Pc 1 + Switch (Upstairs) -> PC+others
Now could i use a wireless DSL router to replace the 2nd switch?
All hard wired. Also would it be possible to set this wireless router up as a range extender/wife hostpot without messing about with the downstairs Wireless?
