I am going to Royal Ascot this weekend for the first time. I have Grandstand Tickets. Can anyone who has been before give any advice on how to enjoy myself the best without spending a fortune?

We'll be arriving by train, but I thought having a picnic lunch outside of the gates before hand with some self brought bubbly might be a good idea. Do people picnic outside the admission area before going in? Or will we look like chavs on the side of the road?

Any tips on how to have a great aprty while there would be appreciated. Thank you.

u wont be able to have a pinic before u go in as ascot race course in on a public footpath there the ammisions area gates its literly on the footpath its right on ascot hight street there are some nice parks in ascot but not any near by some people go have a pinic in the the grass carpark on the way from the trainn station thou but i think u need pass to get in there

its not very expensive in ascot its more expensive than in a bar or pub but u have to expect that at these events its about £3.00 - £3.50 a pint £5.00 large glass or wine and i think about £15.00 for a jug of pims champane changes price depending on the brand

as long as the weathers nice and the drink flowing and u make a couple of bets u have a great time
