Hiya!

I posted out a letter at the end of January via recorded delivery. Royal Mail again have failed to deliver this, and track and trace shows 'is being progressed through our network for delivery'

Its the third time that Royal Mail have failed to deliver. Although the letter did not have any value to it, i used recorded delivery for signature purposes. Can i claim anything else back from them other than the cost of posting?

Thanks

happens all the time with me, I send quite a few packages / letters out and all too often they failed to get signed for. I always claim back the 75p fee as they have failed to provide that part of the service. If they lose the whole thing I claim the whole cost of sending the item plus cost of the item itself. I always get paid.

You can claim the cost of the item if you can provide the original receipt

I guess it was only a letter so cant really claim on that.

I'm going through this at the moment too - its so annoying. The last few things I posted were taking nearly a fortnight to arrive (1st Class Recorded Delivery) but eventually arrived after 12-14 days. The last thing I posted was on 25th Feb - still hasn't arrived so I now have to claim as its showing up as progressing through their system but 15 working days have passed so they say its classed as "lost". It was an Ebay item so I've had to send them a whole pile of stuff to prove what was sent etc. Do they give you cash value or stamps to the value? I know its up to £39 compensation but it was worth £30 and the buyer paid £21. Do I get £21 in stamps back? Hope not!

Yes i got 12 stamps after my recorded delivery disappeared last year - very annoying & unfair as it was worth about 40 quid :x
