Ive had a package sent to Spain via eBay go missing.
Sent first class and proof of postage obtained.

Its worth a bit more than the £39 coverage the PO offer but no biggie.
How long does it take to claim back the £39 from the PO and what do i need to provide aside from the proof of postage receipt? And i assume there is a form to fill in from the PO?

you get a form from the PO, you need proof of the items value, ebay page showing price is enough, the postal receipt,

you can print the form off the royal mail website. My claim took about 3 weeks, you get £39 + cost of postage although you will need proof to show how much your item was worth.

Will the ebay page and paypal transaction page be enough to show how much it is worth?
Rep for you both.

Edit *just re-read first post* i'm a spaz.

Can take up to 6 weeks for them to payout your £39.... It is better to use an original receipt or invoice for the item...

I had problems in the past with the ebay receipt because the person had paid over the odds and the item was valued a lot less...

Make sure everything is exact, including post codes etc.... One letter out and they wont pay....

Happend to me once lol

Hmmm I have a similar query, I sold a high priced item around £180 and it arrived damaged by SD so how do I claim or get proof its damaged since the buyer has sent it back to me and I have refunded.

Also sent something low priced around £20 that has got lost. both to the UK.

And do I go by sale price or how much it is worth new or in shops?

you will need to show hard evidence to prove how much the item is worth. So you can't just base the value of the item on how much it is currently selling for.
