Booked a delivery for today so I could make sure I was in. Have waited in all day and have phoned to check where my wife's present is. Have been told they won't deliver until 29th, they don't know where the parcel is, they'd refuse to let me pick it up even if they found it as apparently it's against the law!!

But it's alright, they'll refund the postage cost to say sorry!!!

Rant over!!!

If it's Special delivery you should be able to pick it up from the delivery office as long as you take proof of who you are & your address. I assume it's special otherwise how could you have booked it for today :?

It's special but they don't know where it is, they're blaming it on snow but I can't see any bad snow en route and they can't tell me where this snow is that's causing the delay.

Apparently illegal for me to pick it up from them before they've attempted delivery??? (if they knew where it was I might pick it up).

How's that?

I ordered something for a guarenteed date when I knew I was going to be in. Sounds like good preperation to me. Not my fault they don't know where it is and haven't kept to their promise of delivering on the guarenteed date.

No worries, more of an apology than I got from RM. Woman told me to cheer up because it's xmas, then hung up on me!!!

Also spoke to someone else who didn't understand that I wanted a call when they'd worked out why it was delayed, he kept saying "but we might not know by then". I said call me when you've found out why, to which he kept saying that they might not have worked out by then!!

How dense?

Last minute = not good!

Yes its 'guaranteed' but all that really means is you can get compensation if it doesnt turn up at that time

I am sure she will understand :laughsupcuffsmiley:

Oh and its the RM - they are shockingly bad

The mistake was relying on Royal Mail to do anything.

Well, sadly I don't get to choose which delivery company the company I'm buying from use.

You can kinda see why they lost that Amazon contract (not sure if they got it back in the end).

i got a delivery via r/m this morning from amazon and it was an item that i was told i wouldnt get before xmas

most people leave shopping to last minute to get best price/be off work for hols it wouldnt have mattered if op had ordered earlier because the item is LOST not running late all that would happen is he would have had time to get something else, i know i would understand if i was getting my pressie late as i dont believe in santa anymore and understand these things happen just get a bunch of flowers and stretch xmas out for a few more days hehe :)

They don't promise to deliver on a guaranteed date.
They guarantee you'll get your money back if it isn't delivered on the specified date.

Next time order it, and pick it up from the sorting office after they've attempted delivery.

Got all my present through with royal mail the driver parked his van at bottom of road and walked up to my house on foot, not got my home delivery network items and been waiting all week for a parcel from them in the green and yellow vans..

So big thanks to Royal mail from me and my family.
